Fiat Palio Stile Launched

Fiat has launched the new version of Palio today, that I was mentioning a few days ago. It has been named as Palio Stile. The Palio Stile comes with a 1.1 liter, 57 bhp engine. I had a quick look at the details of the car and here is what I liked about it.1. The price. Starting at 3.49 lakhs, the big small car becomes an attractive buy.
2. Improved Fuel Efficiency. This was one of the major problem with potential Palio buyers earlier.
3. Better Service. The new Palio will be sold and services by Tata Dealers, which will hopefully make things better.
4. Great interiors. The redesigned dashboard looks great.
The only thing I did not like is that the 1.1 engine seems to be underpowered at 57bhp. Even lighter cars like Wagon R and Santro are powered with 64bhp and 63 bhp respectively. The bigger Palio seems underpowered in comparison. A 65 bhp engine would have worked better. But for those looking for more horses, a higher version - Palio Sport is available 1.6 liter engine delivering monstrous 100bhp.

you forgot to mention the fact that, Palio stile (1.1) is 910kgs as compared to the 1015 kgs of old Palio and palio NV and also the low end torque has been improved fromt he old Palio's so it drives better in low speed and 57 bhp does make sense. also it would actually give a better FE.
I apologize that I misquoted the weight figures, fiat website reports it is 990 kg vs 910 kg I reported, sorry for the mistake.
Thanks for the info. A less powerful engine and lesser weight indeed is adding to efficiency.
But the worrying fact is, it is still a lot heavier than a Santro or Wagon R, both under 900kg and have higher powered engines. That could hamper Fiat's sales.
In any case, I hope Fiat sees good sales. I would not like to see Fiat's failures to continue, resulting in their exit from India again.
I LOve Fiat. My 1st Car was 118 NE, thereafter i purchased Fiat Uno. As a car it was very good, i liked driving Uno but Due to terrible aftersale service and Fiat left their customer high & dry by stopping the production. With all these things i had almost decided to go for another make car and never go for the fait again, but thanks to the joint venture between Fiat and TATA it gave me confidenceto go for a car i like the most FIAT PALIO STILE. i took a test drive and as usual Fiat has again come up with a best car. I only hope the joint venture will not again shutter my confidence and Regret goin for PALIO STILE.
I Will be glad if any executive from joint venture build my confidence further by replying to my query.

can anyone tell me which is better between palio stile and swift (diesel petrol both). Considering to buy one .. but confused. too many cars in the market. looking for a car with good mileage and i can even consider aveo, yuva, getz.
any insight?
Manish, this segment has a lot of choices now. The proper comaprison would be between the Getz and the Palio Stile. The Swift and the U-VA. Test drive them this sequence, it will help. The swift looks a whole lot like the Mini copper, which the BMW surely bring in a while, at which time the swift may be compared as a cheap mini. Drive, comfort, power, strudy - Palio. The after sales is yet to be tested as TATA really is not known for its best after sales practise. They havn't really got off the the Heavy vechical mind set, coupled by the fact that the indica is still a popular cab vehicals.
I need a word of suggestion or advice. I am plannig to buy a car among the lot mentioned below...
Getz GVS 1.1, Swift ZXi, Palio Stile Sport 1.6, Chevy UVA
How should I rate them? Which one should I go for? I need good power with moderate mileage. Please help me out in resolving my confusion.
Well, with all the advantages that Maruti has, I would usually incline to Swift. But the best way to go about is to take your time, test drive and collect info on each of these cars. Have you considered Swift Diesel too?
I am considering buying a car and the choice is between Wagon R,Santro and Palio Stile but I heard it as being underpowered and my favourite is palio 1.6 but I think with 100bhp it might be very FE.

After reading all the articles on Swift/Getz/Palio, my analysis says Palio 1.6 is an excellent option looking at the facts : it is 0 maintenance car (chked with all the owners), current JV between tata nd fiat will improve the Aftr sale service, extremely powered and spacious, you feel like riding a tank when inside. yes there are few concerns like FE is 9 kmpl in 1.6, interiors hv been ignored to reduce the cost etc etc bt engine is same old fiat engine. in totality Palio stile can steal the show,
another mention, if you can wait then wait for fiat punto & skoda fabia, these cars will make your mouth full of water, but yes they'll be priced little premium, may be around 5.5+ for their superior and advanced techlnologies
among other good things why people have not noticed the hydraulic clutch, use it to see the difference between dry and hydraulic clutches.. the latter will be the best for bumber to bumber driving..the gear shift is too good..fuel eco..!!not more than 13kmpl in city.
Forget Tata or Fiat the service spares are not available at concorde for example like the LH side rear view mirror is not available for 1.1 stile even after 3 months. Neither the rear seat hand holders are not available with Tata Dealers. the AC without fan also runs when you switch on the AC giving mild cold breeze. I think in the base model also does not have the thermostat??

I bought the Fiat Palio Stile 1.6 and mus say the car is Great. I was skeptical about buying FIAT at this stage but a single Test Drive Removed any/all doubts from my mind...
The interiors are very nice and sophisticated. Power is actually cool with 1.6 l engine and 100 bhp.
Before you go for Swift/U-va/Getz. just test drive the palio stile once... I am sure u wil luv it..
